GCF Consumer IoT Security

GCF is collaborating with key industry partners to establish a certification initiative and explore synergies that will ensure consumer IoT devices comply with the requirements specified by the industry.
The GCF Consumer IoT Security accreditation programme can be used by any Consumer IoT product manufacturer, regardless of their membership status in GCF.
The declaration is only applicable for Consumer IoT end products and is not applicable for IoT modules, IoT chipsets and constrained devices as defined in ETSI EN 303 645.

GCF intends to cover both non-constrained and constrained devices in its Consumer IoT Security accreditation scheme, and the requirement on software updates will be amended as soon as TS 103 701 has been approved by ETSI. The requirements in this new standard in sections 5.3.14 and 5.3.15 will allow a manufacturer to demonstrate and justify that a device is constrained.
